This site lists the Internet resources, software, search engines etc. which the author finds the most useful. The idea is to present with a short description only the arguably very best findings in various categories. The criteria for inclusion are:

The Internet will be continuously monitored for new developments, but of the hundreds of findings within a week only a few, if none at all for individual weeks may be included here.

K-Meleon Browser Wink Schmap Player FileInfo.com - The File Extensions Resource Time and Date
K-Meleon is a lightweight browser functioning on the Gecko platform which is also used in Firefox amongst others. The reason for introducing it here is that it has a function called "Multisearch" accessible from its "Tools" section. This function allows opening chosen search engines' answers to a query in separate tabs. The SE can be chosen from a table in the "Tools > Web Search > Configure > Search Engines" - section very easily, or one not listed there can be added.Thus it would be possible to build one's own Multi-SE a screencast recording software which can be used with or without microphone and also can be edited; normally this sort of software sells for 700 $ + The link leads to an online service, but then a selection of City Guides can be downloaded for offline use; packages range from single city to continents and the entire world (338 MB diskspace); also available for mobile phones; more Sometimes a download has a file extension that is unfamiliar.
