2009 Calender Week 53, December 28th
This site lists the Internet resources, software, search engines etc. which the author finds the most useful. The idea is to present with a short description only the arguably very best findings in various categories. The criteria for inclusion are:
- Usability

- Free availability (only freeware, where downloads are concerned)

- Ease of handling (no IT expertise required)

The Internet will be continuously monitored for new developments, but of the hundreds of findings within a week only a few, if none at all for individual weeks may be included here.

| U.S. governmental site and database of clinical trials of pharmaceutical products, this is a convenient way to find out more about for example perscribed medication. | Interest-calculator for investment or saving | This SE does not show a list of search results, but the site most likely bearing the highest reference to the query asked. One can then move on to the next site by clicking the green arrow. It seems to work best with well defined categorical keywords. | This database has seemingly unlimited information on musicians of all styles. The information is biographical and relates to recordings as well, with full rated discographies and audio clips. They mix up their data occasionally, for example concerning artists with very common names like Johnny Smith. The results then are misleading. | With this Firefox Addon one can upon one click open simultaneously several URLs in different tabs. This is very useful for sites one wishes to regularly monitor. |
